Pinched in a Cinch!  A demo by  Didem Mert

Friday, 7th June: Meet & Greet, 6:30pm. Location TBA

Saturday & Sunday, 8 - 9 June: Demo Workshop 10 - 4:30pm
Virginia Wesleyan University

Didem will be demonstrating slab, pinch, and coil techniques, with minimal wheel-work and sharing her techniques using bisque molds and soft slabs to pinch from while using a handful of tricks to make pinched work without the typical hand and wrist strain that can often occur when using these processes. She will make her signature oval bowl,  mug, several types of handles, berry basket/bowl, plates, and so much more, along with sharing how to use homemade surfacing materials in conjunction with commercial products.
Flying in from San Francisco - she doesn’t give many workshop so this is a coup for us.

Sculpture Classes

Barbara Kobylinska offers sculpture classes every Tuesday from 10:30 to 12:30 for both beginners and advanced students in her studio at 1236 Southfield Place, Virginia Beach. kobart@verizon.net Stephanie Burr is happy with the large coil-built vessel that she’s making in Barbara’s class.
