Demo Workshop - Friday, 12 April, Meet & Greet (food, wine & slides), 13 - 14 April @ VWU

Subjects covered:
Decals, slab, pressed plates, mugs, teacups,wall planter, hand built texturing, luster, drawing - basically anything and everything. Jessica has a site, clayshare.com, which for $9.99 a month, you can access any of her videos & classes. Take a look at the site, both free & member classes. There is not much that she doesn’t cover, plus, she has the reputation as a wonderful teacher.
One of the subjects covered will be decals - all participants will be encouraged to bring an 8.5 x 11” page of anything thing you like (words, drawings, photos) in black & white and we will print it out on a sheet of decal paper for you. Due to the method that we are using, it will fire to a sepia color.

Surface Techniques for Expanded Pots Workshop with Ray Wood

* March 9th & 23rd * $150 Maximum participants: 10 Skill level: Must be able to throw a 8 - 10” cylinder
Location: All Hands Studio, 164 S. Military Highway, Norfolk, 23505 (Angela’s Studio) 10 - 4 pm both days. Brown bag your lunch.

Day 1: Discuss the sodium silicate process, colourants, other options for finishing, rolling patterns & expanding cylinders. Demo and then hands-on clay work. Pots will be dried and bisqued at All Hands Studio.

Day 2: Raku firing. Supplies to bring: Throwing tools, #25 clay, hair dryer or heat gun. Workshop will supply: Cardboard tubes & newspaper

Sculpture Classes


Barbara Kobylinska offers sculpture classes every Tuesday from 10:30 to 12:30 for both beginners and advanced students in her studio at 1236 Southfield Place, Virginia Beach. kobart@verizon.net Stephanie Burr is happy with the large coil-built vessel that she’s making in Barbara’s class.
