Friends and patrons of Empty Bowls

We are saddened that we had to cancel the 2020 Empty Bowls Dinner when we were so close to the end.  In light of the sudden proliferation of the coronavirus, we decided that it was in the best interest of our patrons and volunteers to cancel. The CDA board has met and decided not to reschedule the event for the fall, but to plan on holding the next EBD in our regular time frame of mid-March, 2021.
For anyone who has purchased a ticket. We have decided to offer the following 3 options.

1.       Receive a refund. For tickets purchased at a business, you can send the tickets along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Julita Wood CDA Treasurer, 2253 Cherrystone Rd, Cape Charles VA 23310. If the you received tickets from one of our members, you may return the tickets to the member and receive your money back or follow the procedure above and mail them in.  All refund requests must be received before May 31, 2020.

2.       Make this a donation to help feed the hungry. Please consider this option to help feed the hungry. Many are already living on the edge and with business closings and customers staying home, this will be a difficult time. Upon request, we will provide a donation receipt to you via email.  Please send us your ticket numbers associated with the donation but we don't need the ticket back. Please send your requests to

3.      Hold the ticket for the next event. You can email the ticket numbers to us and hold the tickets for our next event. You will need to email the information to stating your request. We will swap your tickets for new ones at the next event in March of 2021. In order for us to honor the ticket, your request must be received by May 31, 2020

Thank you for your help and consideration during this process. If you have any questions, please contact us at the email address above.

Stay well and thank you!
